Becoming a qualified swimming teacher assistant

Take your first steps towards becoming a Swimming Teacher

If you want to become a swimming teacher and enjoy an active and rewarding role with Places Leisure then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Overview

Successful applicants will be invited to complete their SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and be supported through their training journey with Institute of Swimming Membership. To help them develop, trainees will spend some time volunteering and get support from a mentor to ensure they have the necessary experience for the role and are ready to hit the poolside well equipped to teach.

Teaching swimming is an active and rewarding role. Work hours are generally part-time and there are a variety of working hours and contracts available across weekdays and weekends. Following the successful completion of training, there may be an opportunity to work with us on a salary of up to £19.00 per hour!*

And why stop there? If you become a lifeguard at a Places Leisure Centre, you will have the opportunity to progress your career in leisure, with potential Placemaker, Placemaker Manager, and Duty Manager roles available in the centre.
